If you have been to Signature Image you have probably received microneedling because we absolutely love this treatment. Also known as collagen induction therapy, we use the SKINPEN to deliver micro-injuries to the skin to stimulate the body’s own healing response and initiate collagen and elastin production, which tightens the skin and reduces the appearance of common skin complaints including acne scarring and fine lines. Did I say how much we love this treatment?
Radio frequency (RF) is another of our favorites and you may have experienced our RF treatment called Thermi-smooth. Radio frequency is heated energy that stimulates the deep underlying tissues to produce collagen, but without injuring the topical skin as in microneedling.
Combine RF and microneedling and you get more dramatic and faster results.
(Just a quick word about the home dermal rollers: not a bad treatment but mostly an exfoliator as it doesn’t go deep enough to stimulate collagenesis, you must also clean them well as bacteria can accumulate.)
WHY DO I NEED RADIO FREQUENCY MICRONEEDLING?
Combination therapies allow for optimal results.
Let’s think of the skin like a cake. A beautiful cake consists of the cake, icing, and decorations. These components could be eaten individually but they are better together. The cake tastes better and looks better when they are all present.
Skin care is much like a beautiful cake. Every layer of the skin must be addressed for optimal results. The cake is the dermal layer where collagenesis is stimulated and provides strength to the foundation. The icing is the epidermal layer that is responsible for skin tone and strength. The decorations are the topicals that further influence tone and protect. Optimal quantities and delicate interactions of these components are necessary to maintain normal physiologic properties of the skin.
WHAT IS RF MICRONEEDLING?
Radio Frequency (RF) microneedling devices use specially insulated needles that deliver high-intensity radio frequency energy (heat) into the deep layers of the dermis, triggering constriction and enhancing skin tightening while also encouraging collagen growth which helps reduce the appearance of the signs of aging.
The penetration of the microneedles leads to a release of growth factors and triggers the wound healing cascade, encouraging collagen production. The needles also help mechanically break down scar tissue, another great treatment for acne scarring. .
The result is a treatment that delivers more dramatic and faster results by tightening skin and reducing fine lines and wrinkles all at the same time.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM RF MICRONEEDLING?
Everyone! The levels of RF energy can be adjusted for you to maximize your results.
